The DISTILLATE Funding Project was commissioned to identify funding barriers that can compromise the ability of local authorities to effectively plan and implement transport and land-use schemes. The Funding Project resulted in the production of a Funding Toolkit to provide decision-makers with an overview of potentially available funding sources to use for a variety of transport and land use schemes, and two guidance notes. One of these guidance documents is aimed at the funders of transport and land use projects and contains recommendations as to how funding mechanisms could be improved to alleviate barriers faced by local authorities. The other examines the implications of using, or attempting to use, various funding mechanisms and discusses their implications for transport and land-use projects. This Project Research Report details the methodology upon which these products were based and outlines the findings of these documents
